
Bridgette Macilwaine,
Senior Landscape Architect & Designer

Bridgette's love of design, nature and outdoor spaces originates from her homeland and childhood in Zimbabwe and Mozambique, climbing rocky outcrops, exploring the natural landscapes and swimming in rivers, every landscape boasting beautiful and explorative characters.
​
As a Chartered Landscape Architect, Bridgette is dedicated to making a positive impact on our interaction between our landscapes, our community and our built environment.
Working across a range of project scales, both commercial and domestic projects, from commencement through to construction and completion. Particular interests and knowledge include nature based designs, urban realm projects, biodiversity enhancement, play and educational landscapes, project and construction management, and bespoke designs offering immersive, explorative and stimulating solutions. As a designer she aims to create immersive and bespoke designs for each and every client, enhancing the connection between people and nature.

Having previously worked for several highly praised Landscape practices, with Sue Illman and Andy Sturgeon, she has built her knowledge of project management, planting schemes, sustainability, high quality detailing and efficient project management.

Bridgette is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute and the Chair for the LI South East branch, also a volunteer at the Brighton Whitehawk community allotment garden - an immersive garden to learn, connect and grow as a community. Also a volunteer with the RHS, STEM Ambassador and a Parish Councillor to Middleton-on-Sea, she's dedicated to supporting positive change, the Landscape profession and community projects.

Hobbies include scuba diving, paddleboarding, running, gardening, sketching, hiking, cooking and travelling.
